We have some exciting news to share with everyone, Elissa has been given the fantastic news that the treatment is working !!! The latest pet scan has shown a reduction of 2cms around the cancer. So on behalf of Elissa and all our family a MASSIVE thank you to all of you who have selflessly donated and made this possible you truly are lifesavers each and every one of you. Thank you Thank you from the bottom of our hearts words could never express how your kindness and generosity has made a difference to Elissa’s journey in fighting the battle against stage 4 cervical cancer.
While we have good news to share, at this stage we have raised around half of the funds needed to pay for the expensive treatment that is helping to save Elissa’s life. As previously mentioned the treatment is at a cost of $65,000. Unfortunately, throughout this journey Elissa has not been well enough to return to work, therefore along with raising funds for treatment she also has ongoing medical and day-to-day living expenses which at some times has become overwhelming.
The immunotherapy medication is not currently covered by the PBS (this is a battle we will fight for others once Elissa is well enough).
During the treatment process we have celebrated some high moments and cried with some very low moments. At no stage was giving up ever an option for Elissa her strength and courage to fight this battle for a 3rd time has never wavered.
It’s never easy to ask for or accept help but any donation no matter how big or small or any share is immensely appreciated and will help in winning this fight. We are eternally grateful for all the love and support we have already received. Your support will help Elissa to focus on her recovery during this challenging time and spend quality time with her partner and son.
